Rangers Vs. Rays: Texas Looks For Season Series Win Over Tampa Bay On Sunday

A hotly contested season series will be decided on Sunday when the Tampa Bay Rays host the Texas Rangers in the teams' final matchup of the season. Texas and Tampa Bay have split the previous eight contests.

Roy Oswalt (4-2, 5.85 ERA) takes the mound for the Rangers on Sunday, a spot starter for Matt Harrison, who is being given extra rest by the team. In Oswalt's last start on Aug. 23, the veteran allowed three earned runs in 5.1 innings.

James Shields (13-8, 3.88 ERA) will be on the hill for Tampa Bay. The right-hander is 5-1 with a 2.22 ERA in his last seven starts, and 3-0 with a 2.40 ERA in four non-playoff starts against Texas.

First pitch is scheduled for 12:40 p.m. CT from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
