Following their series win over the Los Angeles Angels, the magic number for the Texas Rangers is 10. With an 89-64 record, the Rangers pulled themselves four games ahead of the Oakland Athletics, who were off on Thursday.
Both the Rangers and Athletics have 13 games remaining in their season, with the last three coming against the each other in what could be a clincher series for the AL West if both teams continue to do well. The two teams will play each other seven more times total before the season concludes.
Texas will move on to a series against the Mariners in Seattle before a four-game set against the A's at Rangers Ballpark.
