Only a handful of games remain in the 2012 Major League baseball season and, like most everyoneelse in the American League, the Texas Rangers are far from settled when it comes to their postseason fate. With 16 games to playm Texas is in the driver's seat, leading the American League West by three games.
The Oakland A's will not go away, however, as Oakland is the team sitting three games behind Texas and have won 8 of 10. Oakland and Texas will play against each other seven times in the season's final 10 games, but four of those games will be in Texas.
Texas is still rather safe when it comes to the playoffs. Currently, the Rangers own the best record in the American League at 87-59, and they are five games in front of Baltimore for the second and final wild card spot.
