Texas Rangers catcher Mike Napoli will be returning to the team during their series with the Seattle Mariners after missing a month because of a strained left quad. He has already started playing again in Frisco, Tex. with the Roughriders, Texas' double-A affiliate, where he caught games earlier in the week and will take the DH duties on Friday. Prior to his return, Napoli has been out on the DL since August 11.
His full return will be on Saturday for game two of the Mariners series, per MLB.com:
"I feel good enough," Napoli said. "I'll go get some at-bats tomorrow and be ready to go. I don't think I'm running at full speed, but I'm able to run around the bases at a decent pace and I feel good catching. I tried to do everything I could to test it and it felt good. The big thing was being behind the plate. Everything is good."
Napoli has had a down year so far in 2012, hitting only 223/.343/.429 with 17 home runs and 40 RBI on the season.
