The Texas Rangers are facing the Tampa Bay Rays in the first game of a possible playoff preview, looking to continue a hot streak that's seen them win seven of their last 10 games. After five innings, The Rangers lead 6-5 on Monday night.
Tampa Bay's Evan Longoria started the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning. The Rangers took the lead back in the second, with back-to-back solo home runs from Adrian Beltre and Nelson Cruz followed by a run-scoring groundout by Mike Olt.
A sac fly from B.J. Upton tied it at 3 in the top of the third, before Beltre hit a two-run double in the bottom of the inning to make it 5-3 for Texas.
Upton hit an RBI-triple in the fifth, then scored on a single from Ben Zobrist. Beltre again gave the Rangers the lead in the sixth with an RBI-single. This means he is a triple away from the cycle.
Immediately after that, the Rays pulled starter David Price after just 69 pitches. He gave up 10 hits and six runs.
