The Angels Have An 8.6% Chance Of Making The Playoffs

Remember the team that had too many good players? Yeah, those Los Angeles Angels lost again on Sunday, dropping two-of-three to the Detroit Tigers -- who the Angels are chasing in the American League wild card race.

Well, those Angels now have an 8.6% chance of making the playoffs, according to the folks at Cool Standings.

The Angels are five games back in the loss column of the Rays, A's and Orioles, and four back in the loss of the Tigers. No, it's not a lot of ground, and it's not inconceivable to make up five games in the Angels' final 34 games, but leapfrogging at least three teams is going to be difficult.

Los Angeles can control their fate to an extent, as they have three games remaining against the Tigers and seven games remaining against the Athletics, but the Angels will need to start winning -- and winning now if they're going to make the playoffs.
