MLB All-Star Game 2012: Joe Nathan Feels This Year's Midsummer Classic Is Special

Joe Nathan is no stranger to the Midsummer Classic. The Texas Rangers reliever has been there before with other teams, but he feels like there is something special about Tuesday night's 2012 MLB All-Star Game.

T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com brings us these quotes from Nathan on the big event:

"This one definitely means the most to me," Nathan said, "All my All-Star Games have special memories, but this one for sure.

"I didn't even think about making the All-Star team," Nathan said. "I was just fighting to put my stuff back together. That was the biggest question for others and myself, just to prove that I could still do it and if I could get back to this level. A lot of people didn't expect it, but being here is a symbol that I did."

Nathan has proved a lot during his comeback from Tommy John surgery and his resurgent year for the Rangers. Perhaps he'll get another chance to shine in the late innings -- the American League All-Stars are managed by Rangers skipper Ron Washington, after all.
