The five-game winning streak for the Texas Rangers was snapped when they fell 3-1 to the Oakland Athletics on Sunday night. Yu Darvish pitched well through seven innings allowing five hits and only three earned runs, however one of the runs came on a wild pitch which would ultimately be the game winning run. The loss for Darvish was his first of the year at home and lowered his record to 10-5.
The Rangers offense was stifled by A's starter Travis Blackley who also pitched seven innings but he only allowed one earned run to the Rangers when Elvis Andrus hit a RBI single in the third inning for the Rangers only run of the day. The Athletics trio of relief pitchers continued to shut down the Rangers offense and only allowed one hit over the final two innings.
