Rangers Vs. Giants Recap: Texas Defense Slips In 5-2 Loss

Scott Feldman had his best start of the season, but some sloppy defense and little run support cost the Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon as they lost 5-2 to the San Francisco Giants.

Feldman went 5.1 innings while throwing 7 strikeouts to only 1 walk, but he still gave up 3 runs, including one unearned, on 4 hits. Three Texas errors, including Ian Kinsler throwing a ball over Michael Young's head on a run-down and Josh Hamilton losing a fly ball in the sun, didn't help matters.

It was more than enough for San Francisco starter Ryan Vogelsong, who gave up only 3 hits and 1 run in 7.2 innings of work.

The only Ranger who could get anything going against Vogelsong was Mitch Moreland, who hit a solo HR as a pinch-hitter in the top of the 8th inning.

Texas made a late run against the Giants bullpen, who have been without Brian Wilson for most of the season. Mike Napoli hit a solo HR on the top of the 9th as Bruce Bochy cycled through four relief pitchers in the game's final 1.1 innings.

With the tying run on the on-deck circle, Shane Casilla ended up picking up the save for San Francisco when he struck out Brandon Snyder.
