It'll Be Awhile Before We See Yu

Yu Darvish will be getting a little extra time off between starts. Darvish, who last pitched on Thursday against the Oakland Athletics, will not pitch until next Friday, June 15, when the Rangers take on the Houston Astros.

Darvish's next scheduled start was supposed to come on Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, but because of the off day, the Rangers have elected to give Darvish a little extra rest.

Quite frankly, it's the right move for a struggling Darvish. In his last four starts, Darvish has walked 18 batters in just 20.2 innings of work. Equally concerning is the fact that Darvish has surrendered 23 hits in those 20 innings.

Darvish has flashed his brilliance throughout the first two months of the season, and hopefully the extra time off helps set him right. Remember, Darvish is used to extra time off pitching in Japan, where starters have more days of rest between starts than they do here in America.
