Rangers Vs. Athletics Game 3 Lineup: Martin Perez Pitching In First Major League Game

The Texas Rangers are taking on the Oakland Athletics in the third game of a four game set, and the Rangers are sending out Martin Perez to the mound to go up against Athletics rookie Tommy Milone. Rangers manager Rod Washington has decided to give the left-hander Perez his first career start due to the Athletics poor play against lefties.

Perez only action in the Majors was this past Thursday where he went 2/3 of an inning, allowed two hits, a run and struck out one.

The A's Milone is 8-5 on the year and is entering this game carrying a 14-inning scoreless streak, and is making his second start against the Rangers. He last faced them on May 16 and in that game he gave up four runs over seven innings.

As for the Rangers field players they are putting in Mike Napoli at first base instead of his normal spot at catcher with Yorvit Torrealba taking Saturday's game behind the plate. Also, Friday night's hero Craig Gentry is in the starting lineup and will be playing center field and bat ninth.

Rangers lineup:
1. Ian Kinsler 2B
2. Elvis Andrus SS

4. Adrian Beltre 3B
5. Michael Young DH
