A year after battling it out for a World Series berth, the Texas Rangers host the Detroit Tigers for the first time this season. Earlier in the season, the Rangers took three of four games from the Tigers in Detroit.

While both teams expected to be playing for a World Series berth again this year, only the Rangers have played to that level so far. Texas is off to a 45-28 start, but Detroit is is a disappointing 35-37.

On Monday, Justin Grimm will make his second start of the season for Texas. Pitching against Houston nine days ago, Grimm allowed three runs over six innings and earned a victory.

As for his opposite number, Rick Porcello can presumably go nowhere but up from his last start against the Rangers. On April 21, he went one inning and gave up eight earned runs and 10 hits against Texas.

First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. CT and the game can be seen on Fox Sports Southwest.
