Rangers Vs. Padres, Final Score: Texas Completes Series Sweep With 4-2 Win Wednesday

The Texas Rangers completed their series sweep of the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night, winning 4-2 at Petco Park. Yu Darvish (9-4) was solid on the mound. He gave up just two earned runs off five hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in eight innings.

Anthony Bass started five innings for the Padres, and gave up just one earned run off three hits and a walk before leaving the mound. He was relieved by Dale Thayer, who dropped to 0-2 on the season after giving up two earned runs in two outs during the sixth.

The Padres intentionally walked Adrian Beltre to load the bases after Michael Young and Josh Hamilton got on base in the sixth inning with a single and a double, respectively. Thayer got Nelson Cruz to ground into a fielder's choice at third base to let in one run. Three batters later, Yorvit Torrealba was walked with the bases once again loaded, putting the Rangers up 3-2.

Joe Nathan gave up one hit and struck out one in the ninth inning to earn his 15th save of the season.
