The Texas Rangers look to sweep away the inept San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon, and they'll be sending Yu Darvish to the mound to try to complete the sweep. Darvish was very effective against the Houston Astros in his most recent start, so hopefully for the Rangers, he builds on that success on Wednesday.
Both Bud Black and Ron Washington have announced the starting lineups for the game, and they are as follows:
Texas Rangers
2B Ian Kinsler
1B Michael Young
CF Josh Hamilton
3B Adrian Beltre
RF Nelson Cruz
LF David Murphy
C Yorvit Torrealba
SS Alberto Gonzalez
SP Yu Darvish
San Diego Padres
RF Will Venable
CF Cameron Maybin
LF Mark Kotsay
3B Chase Headley
1B Yonder Alonso
SS Everth Cabrera
C John Baker
2B Alexi Amarista
SP Anthony Bass
Mitch Moreland is out of the lineup because of a strained left hamstring he suffered on Tuesday night. Elvis Andrus is simply getting the day off. Unfortunately for Darvish, he won't have Andrus' glove at short, and he also has to deal with Young playing in the field.
