The Texas Rangers had to bring out Justin Grimm to make his first major league start against the Houston Astros. Grimm got off to the wrong foot as Astros shortstop Jed Lowrie hit a solo home run to put the Braves in an early 1-0 deficit.
Grimm calmed down and proceeded to pitch a scores second, third and fourth innings, but in the top of the fifth he allowed two runs and was pulled from the game after completing the sixth. It was looking as if Grimm was going to lose his major league debut, but in the bottom of the sixth inning the Braves offenes got to Astros starting pitcher Lucas Harrell for five runs.
The Braves went onto score three more runs and win 8-3 and with that five-run sixth inning it gave Grimm his first major league win. Grimm lasted six innings, gave up three runs, six hits and struck out seven batters.
