Josh Hamilton Released From Hospital, Will Sit Out Rest Of Astros Series

Texas Rangers All-Star outfielder Josh Hamilton has been released from the hospital after spending the night with an intestinal virus he likely caught from his family. Hamilton received fluids overnight to recover and he will be at Rangers Ballpark on Sunday to work out, but he will not be playing in the Houston Astros series.

Hamilton is schedule to fly with the team and expected play against the San Diego Padres for Monday's game. While Hamilton has been out the Rangers called up Triple-A outfielder Leonys Martin to take his place for a few games.

A few days off may actually help Hamilton regroup since he has had a subpar June where he has batted only .196 with one homer and five RBI this month, and this is coming after he was named American League player of the month in April and May.
