For the second year in a row, Ron Washington will serve as manager of the American League for the All-Star Game. On Wednesday, Washington announced which two managers would serve as coaches on Washington's coaching staff for the Midsummer Classic.
Oakland Athletics manager Bob Melvin and Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost will be on Washington's staff in July. Yost's selection comes as no surprise, as Yost's Royals are serving as hosts for this year's All-Star Game.
Last year, Washington selected Cleveland Indians manager Manny Acta along with Toronto Blue Jays manager John Farrell to be coaches on Washington's staff.
Tony La Russa, despite retiring after winning the World Series last year, will still manager the National League in this year's All-Star Game. La Russa selected Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke and New York Mets manager Terry Collins as coaches for his staff.
