Rangers Vs. Orioles: Rangers Lead 5-0 In Fifth On Shoulders Of Hamilton Homeruns

Baltimore starter Jake Arrieta has not pitched horribly. He's allowed six baserunners, though the five Texas hits were largely on fairly-weak contact, and his curve has kept the Rangers off-balance.

Unfortunately for him, Josh Hamilton and Elvis Andrus are on fire. In the first inning, Hamilton followed a one out Andrus walk with a home run just over the right field wall. Then in the third, Andrus placed a bunt beautifully for a two out single, followed by Hamilton homering just over the left field wall. Adrian Beltre followed up the second shot with an opposite field knock of his own for an extra run.

For his part, Neftali Feliz has looked great, striking out four Orioles and walking just one. Since a first inning double, all Baltimore contact has either been on the ground or fairly shallow, with no runners reaching second since. Feliz sits at 64 pitches through four.

Not quite midway through the game, Texas already finds themselves in a good position for forcing at least a split of the series.
