All good things must come to an end, right? Well, it certainly rings true for Texas Rangers top prospect Jurickson Profar, who saw his 29-game hitting streak come to an end on Sunday, when he went 0-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
↵Since struggling out of the gate in AA, Profar has been nothing shy of amazing. As a 19 year old in AA, Profar is hitting .291/.351/.497, with 21 extra base hits and seven stolen bases. Profar's BB/SO ratio is also pretty solid, with 16 walks against 30 strikeouts.
↵In the month of May, Profar is hitting .333/.384/.513 through 19 games.
↵Per T.R. Sullivan, Profar has managed to slow the game down.
↵↵↵"In the beginning of the season, the game was a little fast for me. I had to slow it down a little bit," Profar said. "There was adjustments I had to make to slow the game down."
↵
It bears repeating that Profar won't turn 20 until next February. Come the end of the season, Profar very well could find his name atop top prospect lists throughout all of baseball.
