So, Josh Hamilton is out with a stiff back, and is listed as day-to-day. No one, I assume, expected him to be healthy all year, so honestly day-to-day is nothing too concerning.
↵In the mean time, this seems like a great opportunity for Leonys Martin. Martin has a blistering .437 wOBA (.445 after park considerations) in AAA this year. He's absolutely knocking the skin off the ball, with three home runs and eight doubles, to go with 12 walks, and it would actually be pretty fun to see what the Center Fielder of the Future© could do in the Majors. He's already on the 40, and he'd create a great platoon option with Craig Gentry in center -- if not an every day option.
↵As usual, defer to Ranger scouting; if he's not ready, he's not ready. He wouldn't completely fill Hamilton's shoes -- if Hamilton is even out long enough for his shoes to be worth filling -- but at least there could be the silver lining of an exciting call-up on the dark cloud of yet another Hamilton injury.
