Adrian Beltre Injury Update: Rangers 3B To Have MRI On Monday To Look At Left Hamstring

Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre suffered a left hamstring injury in Game 1 of the Detroit Tigers series on Saturday. Beltre left the game and has not played since, and this is the same injury that kept Betlre out of the lineup for a month in 2011. The injury happened when Beltre was heading to second base on a double and felt something in his hamstring and immediately knew what the injury was.

Beltre does not think that the injury is a big deal and thinks he may miss only a couple of games, but the Rangers are not taking anything for chance and have scheduled a MRI for Beltre on Monday to have a closer look to see if there is any significant damage.

Beltre has been replaced in the lineup by Alberto Gonzalez and Michael Young over the past two games.
