The first half of the Texas Rangers' Saturday double header is on its way to being the fourth straight domination of a (supposedly) good team.
Texas had a walk and seven hits -- including an Ian Kinsler triple and Josh Hamilton home run -- in the first inning, and also reached on an error. The questionable Detroit infield looked even worse than expected, creating the error, and allowing repeated ground balls to squirt in to the outfield. Before the inning was over, it was already 8-0.
After three more hits and another run in the second, before recording an out, Tigers starter Rick Porcello was chased from the game. Mike Napoli currently stands as the only Ranger not to reach base.
Matt Harrison has been dominating a talented offense thus far, retiring each of the first nine hitters of the game, including two strikeouts and just one fly ball.
Adrian Beltre exited the second inning following a double with a strained hamstring, and is listed as day-to-day. The hope is he was pulled in an 8-0 game as a precaution, and is likely to be fine.
