A night after the Texas Rangers gave the Red Sox a beat down for the ages, Boston manager Bobby Valentine has opted to shake up his lineup in hopes of salvaging a split with the Rangers in the brief, two-game series.
Ron Washington's lineup also looks a bit different tonight, as Michael Young will be getting the day off. Mike Napoli is back catching as well.
Here are the starting lineups for tonight's game:
Texas Rangers
Ian Kinsler, 2B
Elvis Andrus, SS
Josh Hamilton, CF
Adrian Beltre, 3B
Nelson Cruz, RF
David Murphy, LF
Mike Napoli, C
Mitch Moreland, 1B
Brandon Snyder, DH
Derek Holland, SP
Boston Red Sox
Mike Aviles, SS
Dustin Pedroia, 2B
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
Cody Ross, RF
David Ortiz, DH
Kevin Youkilis, 3B
Kelly Shoppach, C
Darnell McDonald, LF
Jason Repko, CF
Josh Beckett, SP
Ross batting cleanup is a far cry from Red Sox lineups that we've seen in the past. It seems like the Rangers have a good opportunity to complete the two-game sweep in Boston.
