MLB Playoff and World Series odds 2012: Rangers not favorites to win World Series

After being knocked out of the AL West title with a late slump, the Rangers are near the bottom of the pack in Bovada's odds to win the World Series.

Despite the fact that the Texas Rangers lost out on the AL West title on the final day of the season to the Oakland Athletics, they're still not at the very bottom of the pack in the official odds for the MLB playoffs, tied with the team that knocked them out of the top of the division.

According to Bovada, the Rangers are not favorites when it comes to taking the trophy at the end of the playoffs, with 15/2 odds. The odds-on favorites are the AL East title-holding New York Yankees, with 9/2 odds. Only the Orioles have worse odds than the Rangers in the AL.

Similarly, the Rangers are given the fourth best odds to win the pennant, with 4/1 odds.

Here are the odds for every team to win the World Series:

New York Yankees 9/2
Washington Nationals 5/1
Cincinnati Reds 11/2
Detroit Tigers 11/2
San Francisco Giants 7/1
Oakland Athletics 15/2
Texas Rangers 15/2
Atlanta Braves 12/1
St. Louis Cardinals 15/1
Baltimore Orioles 18/1
