Orioles vs. Rangers, 2012 AL Wild Card Playoff: Time, TV schedule, starters and more

Game time, starters, TV schedule and more for Friday's Orioles-Rangers Wild Card playoff game.

The Texas Rangers squandered a huge lead in the AL West, giving up the division title to Oakland on the season's final day. The Wild Card play-in game against Baltimore Friday night gives Texas a chance for redemption, and would bring the New York Yankees to Arlington for the opening two games of the Divisional Series.

Yu Darvish will start for the Rangers. Darvish finished 16-9 on the season with a 3.90 ERA and struck out 221 batters while issuing 89 walks. O's manager Buck Showalter has not yet named his starter for Friday night. Baltimore will either start Joe Saunders (3-3, 3.63 ERA since arriving from Arizona) or rookie Steve Johnson (4-0, 2.11 ERA in four starts). Johnson has been wearing a knee brace since getting hit with a Dustin Pedroia grounder in his start against Boston last Saturday, but says he's ready to pitch.

Other Orioles injury concerns include Adam Jones, who has been playing on a swollen ankle, and Mark Reynolds, who fouled a ball off his left foot Wednesday. Both are expected to play Friday.

Baltimore-Texas airs Friday at 8:37 p.m. ET on TBS.
