The Texas Rangers had a disappointing finish to a 93-win season after they relinquished their spot atop the AL West to the Oakland A's in Game 162, but that hasn't deterred a majority of CBSSports.com's baseball experts from picking them to knock off the upstart Baltimore Orioles in the AL Wild Card play-in game on Friday.
Jon Heyman, Danny Knobler, Dayn Perry and C. Trent Rosecrans all picked Texas to win on Friday, while Scott Miller and Matt Snyder predict that the Orioles continue to defy the odds and knock off the Rangers.
Knobler not only has the Rangers winning on Friday, he has them winning the ALDS, ALCS and World Series and predicts that Rangers ace Yu Darvish will walk away with the World Series MVP trophy.
The Rangers will send Darvish (16-9, 3.90) to the mound on Friday night, while the O's will counter with left-hander Joe Saunders (9-13, 4.07).
First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT in Arlington and the game will be televised on the MLB Network.
