Josh Hamilton Also Homers Off Of Justin Masterson, Rangers Up 6-3

Make that ten home runs allowed on the season by Justin Masterson. Josh Hamilton has hit his own two-run shot to right, outdistancing both of David Murphy’s blasts. Hamilton plated Elvis Andrus, who had walked, to give Texas a 4-2 lead.

A lead-off double by Carlos Santana chased Matt Harrison after 5+ innings. Mike Gonzalez allowed Santana to come around to score, narrowing the lead to 4-3.

Murphy did not homer in this third plate appearance. He dribbled a ball that Masterson couldn’t handle down the first baseline and reached on an infield single, starting another rally in the sixth that plated four more runs for the Rangers. Craig Gentry and Elvis Andrus singled and doubled to plate two more each.

After six, 8-3 Rangers.
