Rangers, Matt Harrison Top Twins 4-1

Matt Harrison pitched a strong 7.1 innings to pick up his ninth win as the Rangers finished their four-game set with the Twins on a winning note with a 4-1 win. Harrison allowed the one run on eight hits and a walk while striking out two and lowered his ERA to 2.94, while relievers Yoshinori Tateyama and Arthur Rhodes each recorded an out in the eighth to strand Joe Mauer, the potential tying run. Neftali Feliz seemed to have his mojo back, as he struck out Jim Thome and induced soft contact from Delmon Young and Danny Valencia to end the game.

In earning the series split the Rangers maintained their tight two-game advantage over the Los Angeles Angels, who won their first of a four-game set with the Tigers. The Angels had picked up ground on the Rangers each of the past two nights.

Texas now heads to Canada for a quick rematch with the Blue Jays. The Rangers took two of three in Arlington last weekend. Alexi Ogando and Brett Cecil will square off again, five days after Cecil shut out the Rangers on a four-hitter.
