Fresh off a come from behind win in Cleveland, the Texas Rangers send Alexi Ogando to the mound on Friday night as the Rangers look to take the first two of a four game set against the Cleveland Indians.
Ogando will look to give the Rangers a better effort than spot starter Dave Bush did yesterday. Bush lasted just four innings, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk. He also struck out three Indians.
Ogando is coming off one of his worst starts this season. Ogando allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk in six innings against the Royals last week. Despite the mediocre effort, Ogando was left with a no decision, allowing his record to remain unblemished on the season - sitting at 5-0.
The Rangers will be facing former Red Sox top prospect Justin Masterson, who is 5-3 on the season. Masterson has a solid ERA and WHIP to go along with his record - 3.07 and 1.27, respectively. Like Carlos Carrasco, Masterson doesn't light up the scoreboard with strikeouts - he's only struck out 51 in 73.1 innings this year - so expect a lot of balls in play by Texas' offense tonight.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EDT, 6:05 p.m. CDT.
