Shortstop Elvis Andrus is going to miss the next few games with a wrist injury suffered in Friday's night loss to the Mets, according to Jeff Wilson. While that on the surface is bad news, it's not too bad. Andrus' wrist apparently did show improvement today, and the Rangers are off on Monday - so he'll likely only miss two games as long as he continues to show improvement.
↵Andrus hurt the wrist during Friday night's game sliding into second base awkwardly. X-rays were negative on the wrist, so the negative X-rays coupled with the improvement shown in less than 24 hours means that Andrus will likely avoid the disabled list.
↵Andrus is batting .278 on the season with a .323 OBP and .347 SLG. He's also stolen 22 bases and has only been caught just three times. As expected, Andrus has been slick in the field so far, with a DRS of +7 and a 7.2 UZR/150 - both improvements over his 2010 totals thus far. Andrus has also matched his 2010 WAR total this year already - at 2.3.
