The Texas Rangers snapped out of their losing streak on Friday night, beating the Atlanta Braves 6-2. On Saturday afternoon, the Rangers will look to make it two straight wins over the Braves as Matt Harrison takes the mound for the Rangers.
Harrison's record stands at 5-6 for the year, though, his numbers indicate that he's pitched better than his sub-.500 record says. Harrison owns a 3.31 ERA to go along with that 5-6 record, as well as a 1.33 WHIP and .245 batting average against. Harrison's BB/SO leaves a lot to be desired, as Harrison has walked 32 while striking out only 42 in 70.2 innings of work this year.
Harrison was forced to leave his most recent start against the Twins early after being hit by a comebacker off of his triceps, but, he's been cleared to pitch in Saturday's game.
Texas' offense will be facing off against Derek Lowe of the Braves. Like Harrison, Lowe owns a sub-.500 record thus far, going 3-5 with a 4.02 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. The sinkerballer has struck out 66 in 85 innings while holding opponents to an average of .250.
