Jonathan Taylor Talks About Being Drafted By Rangers (video)

Georgiadogs.com talked with Jonathan Taylor at the Shepherd Spinal Center about becoming a Texas Ranger, months after a tragic paralyzing collision with Georgia teammate and fellow Rangers pick Zach Cone. Taylor said that Ryan Coe, the Rangers' regional scout who had known Taylor since his high school years, called him to inform him of the pick. He said the pick shocked him.

When Coach first called me and said 'congratulations, you've been drafted by the Texas Rangers,' I said 'you're kidding me, right?' He said 'no, it's all over tv.'

Taylor also said that his rehab continues to go well and that he's made significant improvement in his first two weeks in the day rehab program. See a clip from Taylor after the jump and his entire interview here.

Rangers scouting director Kip Fagg said that the Rangers had always admired the way Taylor carried himself and that they or another team would have drafted Taylor anyway if he'd not been injured. See Fagg's comments here.
