On Monday night, the Rangers pounded Wade Davis en route to scoring 11 runs on 20 hits in an 11-5 victory over the Rays. On Tuesday night, Texas' offense will look to stay hot against Rays starter Alex Cobb.
Cobb has made one start this season, coming on May 1 against the Angels. Cobb lasted only four and a third innings, giving up four runs on four hits while walking four and striking out three. While at AAA Durham, Cobb has pitched well, posting a 1.14 ERA, .246 BAA, walking 10 and striking out 50 in 47.1 innings.
Still, the lineups Cobb faced at AAA aren't exactly as quality as Texas' lineup, especially with Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz back in the fold.
C.J. Wilson will draw the start for the Rangers, as he looks for his sixth win of the season. Wilson has pitched well this season, as evidenced by his 1.23 WHIP and 3.25 ERA. Wilson has struck out 65 batters and has walked 24 in 74.2 innings of work in 2011.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:40 p.m. CDT, 6:40 p.m. EDT.
