Rangers Vs. A's: Texas Looks To Snap Skid Against Brett Anderson

The Texas Rangers have fallen all the way to third in the AL West thanks to their recent losing streak. Texas trails the division leading Angels by two games and are one game behind the second place A's. On Tuesday night, the Rangers will have the opportunity to pull even with the A's as they take on Oakland and Brett Anderson in Arlington.

Anderson has been excellent this year, going 2-2 with a 2.77 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 35 SO to only eight BB on the season. Anderson's worst start of the year, though, came against the Rangers on April 30 when Anderson allowed seven runs in five innings on nine hits while issuing four walks.

Texas' bats will look to hit Anderson hard again tonight in support of Colby Lewis, who has pitched well recently after starting out the season poorly. Lewis still has a 5.21 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP, but has pitched eight innings in each of his last two starts, allowing a combined five earned runs in those two starts. Further, Lewis has struck out 17 and walked only two in his last 16 innings.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT, 5:05 p.m. PDT.
