The Texas Rangers find themselves involved in their first rubber match of the 2011 season. Following a rain out on Friday, Texas split a doubleheader with the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, losing the first game 5-0 before winning the second 13-1. The 5-0 loss to Zach Britton was Texas’ first loss of the season. Now on Sunday, the Rangers look to take the series from Baltimore.
Derek Holland will get the start for the Rangers. Holland earned a win against the Seattle Mariners in his first start of the year, pitching six innings while allowing three runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out five.
Holland will be opposed by Jeremy Guthrie for Baltimore. Guthrie has made only one start for Baltimore this year, pitching eight shutout innings against the Rays, allowing only three hits and a walk while striking out six. Guthrie has missed the past week with pneumonia.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. est, 12:35 p.m. CST.
