What A Fan Wants

New, 7 comments

This goes for all fans of all team sports.

This comes from a response to Chistopher's Michael Young article from BBCREW3, particularly this portion:

If the business end of the team can treat a player like Michael Young like this….then what is it saying for the franchise and the people running it? (probably that they just care about a winning team and not really about there players…) Thats probably not a team people want to be fans of…(just a thought)

(Emphasis mine.)

Now, this struck me as a shocking thought. Is that necessarily true? It seems to me that we root for team sports to see our teams win, and provided their treatment of their players is within the rules, all that matters is whether or not that treatment makes the team better.

BBCREW3 suggests fans do not necessarily want to root for a team where winning comes first and player consideration second. I find that hard to believe, but I'm open to be shown how wrong I am. So, vote below and argue in the comments if you need to. I'm extremely curious about these results.
