The Rangers dropped their first Cactus League game today to the Royals, 4-2. C.J. Wilson got the start and allowed three hits and one earned run in two innings. David Bush struggled a little with his command in his two innings, walking two and striking no one out. Tanner Scheppers threw a perfect inning and received rave reviews for his stuff, as did Pedro Strop for his perfect inning. Yoshinori Tateyama made his Rangers debut and was able to make it through an inning scoreless, despite a hit and a walk.
↵Doug Deeds, a nonroster invitee who T.R. Sullivan predicted earlier today could impact the team this season, supplied their offense with a two-run shot. Jeff Francoeur homered for KC. Michael Young committed a throwing error, and Julio Borbon dropped a catchable ball in CF. Proof that it was a spring game: Billy Butler stole a base. Butler has one successful regular season steal in 533 career games. Here's the full box.
↵The Rangers play the Royals at 2:05 again tomorrow. That one will be on ESPN 103.3 locally.
