Joe Sheehan Predicts The Rangers Will Lose The World Series In 2012

A third time is supposedly a charm, but if Joe Sheehan's prediction for the 2012 baseball season comes true, then it certainly won't be a charm for the Rangers. While it's obviously way too early to make any predictions in the baseball world, with Prince Fielder and another notable free agents still yet to sign, Sheehan made ten predictions about the 2012 baseball season -- which includes the Rangers losing in the World Series...again.

The Reds will win the World Series. The AL has, arguably, the five best teams in baseball. The NL has that kind of parity at the top, though at a lower level of performance. In a short series, though, that doesn't really matter -- and we'll see that again in 2012, as the Reds, winners of a weak NL Central, ride the bats of Joey Votto and Jay Bruce into the World Series, where rookie catcher Devin Mesoraco and a deep bullpen dispatch Texas in six games. The Rangers, winners of 94 regular-season games and the AL West, become just the third team -- and the first since 1913 -- to lose three straight Fall Classics.

It would certainly be heartbreaking for Rangers fans if this happened. But hey, at least the Rangers have established themselves as favorites in the American League, ahead of two particular east coast teams.
