Mark Cuban Could Be Interested In The L.A. Dodgers

Our colleagues over at SB Nation L.A. are reporting that Mark Cuban's name is circling among those parties interested in purchasing the fire-sale Los Angeles Dodgers as former owner Frank McCourt settles his affairs in bankruptcy court.

Cuban, owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, has a passionate interest in sports and is constantly looking to extend his sports ventures further. The $1 billion price tag, however, kept Cuban at bay at the time.

Now that the Dodgers may be sold, Cuban could once again become the franchise's new owner. In Cuban's words, "At the right price, I'm interested."

The L.A. Times reports that Cuban had previously made a move to purchase the Dodgers, but balked at McCourt's initial $1 billion price tag. Cuban has been in the hunt for a baseball team at least twice before, when he was rumored to be interested in the Chicago Cubs and failed to beat out Nolan Ryan and Chuck Greenberg to purchase the Texas Rangers at auction last year.
