Beyond The Boxscore: Rangers Still Favored In 2011 World Series

SB Nation's sabermetrics blog Beyond the Boxscore does not shy from calling the Rangers' game one loss a huge blow, but still calls them the favorites to win it all.

By the total of 56.8%, rather impressive given the whole being-down-one-nothing thing. In fact, not only do they think the Rangers are still favored, they think the Rangers are more likely to win in five than the Cardinals are to win in five or less.

It was entirely reasonable to see the Rangers as large favorites in this series without seeing them as favorites to beat Chris Carpenter on the road. Winning will be much harder, but BtB reinforces it is still more than possible, if not likely.
