With the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals taking care of business this weekend, the schedule for the 2011 World Series has just been announced:
Game 1: Wednesday, October 19 in St. Louis
Game 2: Thursday, October 20 in St. Louis
Game 3: Saturday, October 22 in Arlington
Game 4: Sunday, October 23 in Arlington
If necessary:
Game 5: Monday, October 24 in Arlington
Game 6: Wednesday, October 26 in St. Louis
Game 7: Thursday, October 27 in St. Louis
While the Rangers won seven more games than the Cardinals in the regular season, the AL's loss in the All-Star Game means they will be without home-field advantage for the second straight year in the Fall Classic.
Because both teams were able to wrap up their LCS series in six games, they will be able to set their rotations to have No. 1 starters Chris Carpenter and C.J. Wilson pitching in Game 1. All games will be televised on FOX.
