Rangers Vs. Tigers Score: Miguel Cabrera Homers, Tigers Take 1-0 Lead

So far, not so good for Derek Holland

Holland allowed a leadoff single to Austin Jackson in the top of the first inning, but managed to erase him off the basepaths when he got Detroit's No. 2 hitter Ryan Raburn to ground into a routine 6-4-3 double play.

Holland then got ahead of Miguel Cabrera in the count, getting up 1-2 before Cabrera fouled off two straight pitches. Cabrera then muscled an opposite field home run, just out of the reach of Texas' right fielder, Nelson Cruz, giving the Tigers an early 1-0 lead.

Holland got out of the first without any more trouble, getting Victor Martinez to bounce out harmlessly to Kinsler to end the inning.

Still, the Rangers need Holland to settle down. He's thrown 17 pitches, 12 for strikes, but the pitches have been left up in the zone.
