The Detroit Tigers extended their lead over the Texas Rangers in Game 3 of the ALCS with short stop Jhonny Peralta hitting a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the sixth inning off of starter Colby Lewis. On the night Peralta is a stellar 2-for-3 with that home run and two RBI's.
Later in the inning center fielder Austin Jackson knocked in Andy Dirks with a single to center field. That would end the sixth inning with the Tigers leading 4-1, and it would mark the end of the night to Lewis who 5 and 2/3 inning, gave up eight hits, four earned runs, walked two and struck out six.
In the top of the seventh the Rangers replaced Lewis with Koji Uehara who promptly gave up a solo home run to Miguel Cabrera to give the Tigers a 5-1 one lead. After that home run the Rangers just pulled Uehara for Darren Oliver.
