Rangers Vs. Tigers Score: Victor Martinez Homers, Injures Himself

The home run haunts Colby Lewis yet again, as Victor Martinez belted a solo homer, tying Game 3 of the ALCS up at a game a piece. Martinez, though, did manage to injure himself while hitting the game tying homer.

Immediately after swinging, Martinez grimaced and seemingly jogged gingerly around the bases. Martinez was amazingly subdued when returning to the dugout, before slamming his helmet down in the tunnel. Trainers followed Martinez down into the tunnel as well.

Since Martinez is the designated hitter, Tigers manager Jim Leyland doesn't have to make a decision immediately on what to do with Martinez. He'll likely have a few innings for the Tigers to determine the extent of Martinez' injury.

As for the home run, well, it's nothing new for Lewis, as he served up 35 home runs during the regular season, and one in the ALDS against the Rays. The damage was minimal, though, since it was a solo blast.

The game remains tied headed into the fifth inning.
