Nolan Ryan Sets Rangers' 2011 Expectations

A year after Nolan Ryan's 92-win prediction foretold a 90-win season, the Rangers' president and now minority owner has set the 2011 bar at 90-95 wins during a conversation with Richard Durrett

"I think we're a better ballclub now than we were this time last year," Ryan told ESPNDallas.com after talking with fans in a Q&A session. "We have more experience and a better overall club with the additions we've made this offseason and the young pitchers we have coming back."

Comparing preseason rosters and ignoring changing individual expectations, Texas has swapped DH Vladimir Guerrero for 3B Adrian Beltre, reclamation starter Rich Harden for Brandon Webb, Yorvit Torrealba is in place, rather than youngsters, Mitch Moreland is around, and the long side of the bullpen has undergone a few changes.

Just 82 wins would have been needed to win the AL West in 2010, as the A's, Angels and Mariners all had down seasons.
