Baseball America released its top 20 list for prospects in the Northwest League today and rated Rangers shortstop Jurickson Profar as the top prospect in the league. Scouts raved about Profar, saying:
↵Profar is electrifying defensively. He has great range, soft and quick hands and above-average arm strength... A switch-hitter, Profar is a little better from the left side but has nice swings from both sides of the plate.↵
Baseball America also praised Profar's makeup and intelligence. Fun fact of the day: Profar speaks four languages and is only 17 years old.
↵The Rangers had five other prospects crack the NWL's Top 20 list including both their first rounders from the 2010 Amateur Draft. Kellen Deglan was ranked as the 11th best prospect in the NWL this year while Jake Skole was ranked at No. 13. First round supplemental selection Mike Olt was ranked the fourth best player in the NWL.
↵Other Rangers prospects appearing on the list are LHP Miguel de los Santos (No. 10) and OF Jared Hoying (No. 16).
