Josh Hamilton Progressing From Injury

Per T.R. Sullivan, Josh Hamilton took 40 swings today without feeling any discomfort.

Josh Hamilton, sidelined with two small fractures in his right ribcage, did some light swinging and shagging fly balls in the outfield on Tuesday as he continues to work his way back.

He took 20 more swings off a tee and 20 off underhanded “soft toss” pitching. He did so without feeling any problems while putting 60 percent effort into it. That encouraged him to go out to the field and shag flies in batting practice.

“A good day,” Hamilton said.

Tomorrow calls for more swings off soft-tossing pitching but much of what he does each day is dictated by how he feels when he gets to the Ballpark.

Hamilton has been hoping to return for the Rangers final three games of the regular season in preparation for the ALDS.
