According to Jeff Wilson, Josh Hamilton is aiming to return for the Rangers final three games of the season in preparation for the ALDS.
All-Star outfielder Josh Hamilton is targeting the final three games of the season as most realistic for his return from two fractured ribs, but he will try to get back a few games sooner. "I think that's reasonable," he said. "It's still a fast ramp-up, but at the same time, I want to get some at-bats. I'll do what I can. If I feel like anything is making me go backward, I'll stop it." Hamilton said he was feeling less pain on his left side Wednesday, a day after receiving three epidural nerve-blocking injections to help reduce the pain. He was told that the effects of the shots could last up to six weeks. He spent 20 minutes riding a stationary bike, stretched and received a massage to help loosen up the lingering tightness in his latissimus dorsi muscle.
Hamilton has been sidelined since September 4th when he injured himself in Minnesota.
