2010 World Series Viewing Guide By Fanhouse

This World Series brings together two teams and two sets of fans full of schtick and good luck charms. Fanhouse explains several of them, including the claw and antlers. Read up on the origin of these Giants' schtick here.

The Beard: Brian Wilson has been one of the best closers in the National League for three years, but now he's also one of the most recognizable. The eccentric right-hander started growing his beard in August. As it got thicker and thicker, he also began coloring it jet black. It looks like a cheap Halloween costume beard.

Fans, though, have embraced it, bringing "Fear The Beard," signs to the ballpark. One group of creative fans brought volleyballs with the beard. (Remember the movie Cast Away? Wilson was the volleyball that became the only friend for a stranded Tom Hanks.)

"I love it," Wilson said. "It's not something that I was looking for. I didn't think it would take a life of its own. The fans get all amped up and put their heart and soul into cheering, and we feel it."
