World Series 2010: Colby Lewis Or CJ Wilson In Game 2 For Rangers?

New, 1 comment

We all know Cliff Lee is starting Game 1 for the Texas Rangers in the World Series. He'll face off against Giants ace Tim Lincecum.

What we don't know yet is who is starting Game 2 for the Rangers. Texas manager Ron Washington has stated that it will be either Colby Lewis or C.J. Wilson for the Rangers in Game 2, and the whoever doesn't start Game 2 between the pair will start Game 3 when the series shifts to Arlington.

Personally, I'd go with Lewis. In the playoffs he's gone 2-0 for Texas in three starts with 18.2 innings of work and an 18/11 SO/BB ratio. He's allowed only 11 hits in the postseason as well, so batters are only hitting .172 against him.

Wilson has also started three games pitching 18.1 innings with a 13/8 SO/BB total, 1.20 WHIP and .206 batting average against. Very good numbers but I'd still go with Lewis. I just have more confidence in him to give strong innings than I do Wilson.
